Partially Digital

March 8, 2010

I’m going to continue down my greener ways path and talk about another option for saving money and the earth.

To save money, lots of consumers are “doing it themselves”.  One way to do this when it comes to wedding stationery is to go partially digital.

What do I mean by that?

Well, I mean that you can pay someone (like Emily..and some day me when I finally get the hang of digital design) to design a paper suite for you and you print it at home, Kinkos, Officemax, or where have you.

So, it’s partially digital because you get the files via e-mail and you can in turn use them however you please!  These could easily be adapted to send entirely digitally and without using a stitch of paper!

For example, this Etsy shop, does just that!  Everything is entirely customizable and swoon-worthy!

Should you choose this route, and print at home on your inkjet printer, I suggest you do the following:

1. buy some decent cardstock that you know your printer can print on
2. buy a decent paper cutter (Michael’s has lots to choose from and you can get 40% off coupons almost weekly!)
3. buy a bone folder

You’ll spend maybe another $50, but these things will be invaluable and save you a lot of stress when you’re semi-diying in this fashion.
